Marielle McHale ’18 – Varsity girls hockey

Marielle has had a terrific season thus far for the girls varsity hockey team. Last week she had 7 goals and 2 assists in the team’s 3 tournament victories at the Winchendon Holiday tournament.  Marielle led the team with three goals in their 4-0 win over Lawrence. She had two goals in wins against both Winchendon and in the championship game against NMH.  Marielle’s goals came from tremendous puck movement with her line mates and some strong individual efforts. Marielle leads by example through her “team first” mentality and her “can do” attitude.

 

Duncan LeXander ‘17 – Varsity boys basketball

Duncan has been a team leader throughout the season for the boys varsity basketball team.   This past Saturday he played a strong two way game in a big team win over Deerfield.   Offensively, he scored 8 points including a 3.  Defensively, he was one of the catalysts that led the team’s excellent defensive effort.   Duncan is a terrific team player always supporting his teammates both on and off the floor.

 

Mike Slate ’20 – Thirds boys basketball

Mike has had a strong start for the boys thirds basketball team this season. On Saturday he played a tremendous game against Berkshire. He dominated on the defensive side of the ball and shut down their better offensive players. In addition, he had countless steals and rebounds for the Wildcats in the overtime loss. His work ethic is second to none and he sets a great example for the rest of his team mates.
