Devin DeVerry ’17- Boys Varsity Skiing

Devin has had a great season for the Wildcats. On Wednesday, he finished the season with dual first place finishes at NEPSAC’s. He was first in both the Giant Slalom as well as in the Slalom. Despite a slower first attempt, Devin refused to back down as he fired back in the second run of the slalom to erase a .62 second deficit and win the overall Slalom with a combined time of 120.32. This placed him 2.26 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Devin’s work ethic on and off the mountain has provided a great example for his teammates.

Sophie Carellas ’18 – Girls Varsity Skiing

Sophie started off the season overcoming great adversity. Despite these challenges, she showed true grit and determination and had a fantastic season for the Wildcats. She finished the season third in Slalom and seventh in Giant Slalom at the NEPSAC championship. Sophie proved to her teammates that with hard work, determination and a positive attitude, anything is possible.

Xavier Thibault ’18 – Boys Varsity basketball

Xavier has been a significant contributor to the success of the Wildcats this season. The qualities he brings each day to the team are exceptional and include boundless enthusiasm, a passion for competition, a selfless “team first” positive attitude, and a relentless, consistent, tough-minded work ethic.  He has been both a team leader and a great teammate throughout the season as he is always ready to do what is in the best interest of the team.

Hunter Adams ’17- Varsity Wrestling

For six years Hunter has given his best to the Wildcats day in and day out. This past weekend that meant that he came from being unseeded and having to face the number one seeded wrestler in the first round to placing fifth, becoming an All-New England wrestler, and qualifying for the National Prep Wrestling Championships at Lehigh this upcoming weekend.  After losing a tough bout to a two-time All-American and returning New England champ in the first round, Hunter won four straight matches to ensure his Nationals qualification. Hunter ended the day with a 5-2 record for the tournament. Hunter has dedicated his season to learning new technique, being more positive, and maintaining the same level of intensity that he has always displayed.

Aidan Bourbonais ’20 – Girls JV Hockey

Aidan is new to hockey and has grown to love the sport. This is evident by her willingness to work extremely hard in practice and in games. She has scored two goals so far this season for the Wildcats and wins a number of puck battles with her aggressive play.  She is a smart player and puts herself in a position to create scoring opportunities for her linemates.  She plays with heart and desire, and practices with a desire to improve. Aidan is a coachable player who pushes herself to get better every day.   

Daniel Simpson ’20 – Coed Thirds Squash

In his first season on the squash courts, Daniel has demonstrated initiative and dedication to the sport and to the team. Daniel quickly learned the rules of the sport at the onset of the season and since, has dedicated time to developing his technique, speed, and ability to succeed during match play. In the last weeks, Daniel’s commitment to excel has resulted in rising from number five on the team ladder to number one. Daniel thrives in the challenge of playing others to both learn from their technique and to share the sheer enjoyment of playing squash. His dedication to the sport extends beyond practice time as he is often seen playing JV players on the weekends to hone his skills.

George Spence ’21 – Boys Fourths Basketball

George has been a consistent contributor to the Wildcats successful play all season. This continued on Wednesday, as he sparked the offense using his three-point game, scoring 3 three-point buckets against Eaglebrook. Again on Saturday, George played fantastic as he had 13 points, 9 of them coming from 3 pointers against a skilled MacDuffie squad.  He’s never afraid to step up and take a big shot when his team needs him the most. George leads by example as he always demonstrates a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.

Chris Barber ’21- Boys Thirds Basketball

Chris has been a big part of the Wildcats success all season. This continued on Saturday, as he led the team in scoring, helping the Wildcats edge out Eaglebrook 36-31. In addition to his excellence on the offensive side of the floor, he has played lock down defense in every game this season. Chris’ hard work and willingness to be coached provides a positive example for the rest of the players on the team.
