Athletic Hall of Fame: Mark Timm ’76

Whether he was taking to the court or the field, Mark Timm ’76 was simply outstanding — at almost any sport. While earning 12 varsity letters over the course of his time at Williston, Mr. Timm was also named captain for three sports.

To kick off his freshmen year, Mr. Timm was named starting quarterback on the varsity football team. He passed for 609 yards and ran for 192 yards, leading his team in both statistics.

Athletes of the Week – Apr. 23rd

Brandon Diaz ’12 and Jay Sylvia ‘12

Against Millbrook on Saturday, seniors Brandon Diaz and Jay Sylvia were outstanding at the plate. Diaz went 3-3 with two home runs, four RBI, and two walks, while Sylvia went 4-5 including three home runs and seven RBI. Sylvia currently has a .350 batting average, a 1.000 slugging percentage and five home runs so far this season. Diaz, with four home runs, has a .474 batting average. Diaz and Sylvia have both hit home runs in three of the team’s seven games thus far.

Gabby Thomas ‘15

A week ago in the girls’ track team’s season opening meet against Vermont and Cheshire, Gabby set a school record in the triple jump with a leap of 35’6″ surpassing the old record by almost two feet. Last weekend, at the Deerfield Relays Gabby cleared 5’0″ which is a personal best by 4″ and is only 3” from the school record.

Jay Brennan ‘15

JV Baseball standout, Jay Brennan, went 3-3 with two doubles, a single and a stolen base in last Wednesday’s match-up against Eaglebrook. In Saturday’s seventh-inning comeback win over Rectory, Jay was 2-4 with one run, one RBI, two stolen bases and a number of great defensive plays in the field. On the week Jay was 5-7 with two doubles, three stolen bases, a run and a RBI.
