Robert C. Moores ’36

Robert “Bob” Moores was born January 29, 1917 in Stanford, Connecticut. He graduated in 1936 from Williston Academy in Easthampton, Massachusetts.

On June 10, 1939 he married Kathryn Mantel. They moved to Rochester in 1946. He was owner of Moores Color Center at Miracle Mile in Rochester. He retired to Birchwood, Wisconsin in 1972 and relocated to Hendersonville, North Carolina in 1999. He returned to Rochester in 2007 and resided at the Homestead of Rochester until his death.

Survivors include his 3 daughters, Susan Johnson, Cindy (Larry) McHale, Debbie (Joel) Ostrum; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Ostrum, Ruth Ostrum, Connie (Ray) Sheets and Kelly (John) Longstreth; 2 great grandchildren, Megan and Cody Longstreth; and a sister Nancy (Stanley) Poltrack. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn.

  1. I am wondering why Jennifer Kemper’s untimely death was mentioned. Is this because it wasn’t her “reunion” year? She graduated with the class of 1990.

    Thank you for your comment. (I assume you’re referring here to Jennifer Kemper’s obituary and not Robert Moores’, where this was posted.) To answer your question, we do not pick and chose alumni obituaries based on Reunion year (or any other criteria), but print all the obituaries that are submitted to us by friends and family of the deceased. Other than obvious grammatical errors, we also don’t edit the obituaries, but post them as they were submitted to us.
