Millicent “Mitz” Hofman Guerrin ’54

HoffmanMillicent “Mitz” (Hofmann) Guerrin, 76, of Hadley passed away Friday May 10, 2013 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst.

Born in Northampton June 8, 1936, Mitz was the daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Fagan) Hofmann.

She was educated in Northampton schools and a 1953 graduate of the former St. Michael’s High School. She later graduated from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Worcester in 1957.

Mitz worked at the VA Medical Center in Leeds for many years retiring in 1993. In 1992 she was honored by being named Nurse of the Year. She was a longtime Communicant of the Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley where she was very active in the St. John’s Lady’s’ Guild.

Mitz is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fred Guerrin Jr., her son Frederick Guerrin III and his wife Michele of Easthampton, her two daughters Lisa Guerrin Johnson of Northborough and Carolyn Guerrin Eddy and her husband Timothy of South Deerfield, her twin sister Patricia “Patz” Miller and her husband Robert of Hatfield, her two brothers George R. Hofmann and his wife Judith of Sarasota, FL and Thomas Hofmann of Hampton, NH and her two grandchildren Paige Eddy and Ryan Johnson, a niece and a nephew.
