\"2013_10_Pilgrim,<\/a>This was a really fun event.\u00a0 Dubbed \u201cSunday Slices\u201d and hosted by Chef Anne Burrell of the Food Network, the evening featured about 30 different pizzerias from all over New York with beer and wine pairings.\u00a0 It was up on the roof of Pier 92 in NYC with a great view of the city.\u00a0 There were easily 3,000 people in attendance, including a dozen Williston alumni.<\/p>\n

I\"2013_10_Pilgrim,<\/a> tried the fried pizza, which was delicious, as was the upside\u2013down pizza and the soprasetta pizza.\u00a0 The New England clam chowder pizza was\u2026different.<\/p>\n

Shout outs to those I met: Dan Bi Kim \u201908, Spencer May \u201909, and Katie O\u2019Brien \u201907,\u00a0Colin Elliott Hennessey \u201906, Cait Bradley (former faculty), and\u00a0Carly Turkus \u201901, who had helped me pick this event from the list of offerings.\u00a0Carly and her boyfriend spent time at the blackjack table where they turned $100 in charity money into $700 in charity money. Way to go, Carly!<\/p>\n

\"2013_10_Pilgrim,<\/a>All the alumni said they would love to do something like this again next year, although I think I would advocate for the Grand Tasting instead of Sunday Slices.\u00a0 While more expensive, it was a wider arrangement of foods and wines.\u00a0 Plus Christine McBride \u201992 was the event coordinator!<\/p>\n
