<\/a><\/p>\nDuring her six years at Williston, Ms. Hatch, of Wilbraham, Mass., earned 14 athletic letters. She was captain of the girls varsity soccer team; earned five letters on the girls varsity hockey team; and earned four letters and two All-New England honors in girls lacrosse. As a co-captain of the girls varsity lacrosse team\u2014with Ms. Fitzgerald and Taylor Potasky\u2014Ms. Hatch helped lead the team to a 14-1 record.<\/p>\n
Ms. Hatch, who will attend Colby College next year, was named the team\u2019s most valuable player at the school\u2019s athletic award ceremony in the spring. She also received the Alumnae Bowl and Blanket Award, in recognition of students who have participated on an Upper School team in every season.<\/p>\n
Among her coaches, Ms. Hatch was known for her competitive fire and exceptional leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaddie\u2019s hard work and dedication is second to none,\u201d said Jen Fulcher, head coach of the girls varsity lacrosse team. \u201cHer leadership will guarantee the further development of the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms. Fitzgerald, who will attend Northeastern University in the fall, was a three-year letter winner at Williston, including three letters in field hockey. During her three years with the team, girls varsity lacrosse went 42-2.<\/p>\n
As a player, Coach Fulcher described Ms. Fitzgerald as an \u201cincredibly strong offensive threat.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMaggie is one of the smartest players I\u2019ve been honored to coach,\u201d Coach Fulcher said. \u201cShe sees the field really well and consistently sees the scoring opportunities, as well. She is a constant threat.\u201d<\/p>\n The girls lacrosse program began at Williston in the 1970s, soon after Williston Academy and Northampton School for Girls combined to form the Williston Northampton School. Previous girls lacrosse players named to the All-American team include SA Fogelman \u201910, two-time All-American Bridget Instrum \u201912, and Karly Simpson \u201913. Katie Cavanaugh \u201912 was a two-time Academic All-American.
