The team earned a berth in a New England Prep School Athletic Conference\u00a0championship bowl on Saturday, November 15 against Lawrence Academy. \u00a0This is the Wildcats first appearance in the championship bowl since 2002. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">As is always the case in any great season, a number of players have had outstanding seasons.\u00a0 Junior running back Nick Garofano has had a fall for the record books.\u00a0<\/span>Garofano surpassed the\u00a01,000 yard mark in rushing when he broke off a 90-yard run last Saturday night in football\u2019s convincing 50-19 victory over Tabor. \u00a0Garofano becomes the first Wildcat to break the 1000-yard mark in a season.\u00a0\u00a0Going into this coming Saturday\u2019s championship bowl game, Garofano has rushed for 1,038 yards, averaging a remarkable 9.7 yards a carry.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2014\/11\/garofano2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1434\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2014\/11\/garofano2.jpg\" alt=\"garofano2\" width=\"250\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">To add to this great accomplishment, \u00a0Garofano also broke the school scoring record with 124 total points.\u00a0 Only a year ago, Ledell Robinson \u201914 had tied the school record of 122 points set by Arwin Gbolie &#8217;02 in 2001.\u00a0\u00a0 Garofano has scored 18 touchdowns (14 rushing and four\u00a0receiving) this fall while adding eight\u00a0two-point conversions. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Garofano is a three-sport varsity athlete at Williston.
