The spring season athletic awards assembly was held on Monday May 30, 2011. The Athletic Department presented the Blanket Award for participation followed by the George Denman Award and the Alumnae Award, which are presented to a senior boy and girl. In addition the award winners for individual sports were announced.<\/p>\n

\"DSCThe Blanket Award is given in recognition of those students who have participated on a team in every season they have been in the upper school at Williston. The following students were presented Blanket Awards at the awards assembly.<\/p>\n

One year students<\/strong>
\nKevin Aucoin, Nicole Eskenazi, Andrew Luzzi, Andrew McCarthy, Lou Pane, James Redman, Jon Siracusa, Henry Smith<\/p>\n

Two year student<\/strong>
\nAmelia Dineen<\/p>\n

Three year students<\/strong>
\nTom DeNuccio, Quilvio Gonzalez, Janet Lee, Kay Samples-Smart, Isaac Sterman, Lydia Stinson<\/p>\n

Four year students<\/strong>
\nReiko Akimoto, Tony Alvarez, Debbie Andres, Courtney Aquadro, Reid Atkinson, Amanda Bogue, Kyra Brown, Anna Carando, Eric Corley, Lindsey Dirats, Ross Ewing, Sarah Fay, Jill Grant, Abby Hatch, Sean Lowney, Hannah Oleksak, Marisa Roth, Alexis Speliotis, Meaghann Treacy, Rae Underberg, Amy Wright<\/p>\n

The George Denman Award<\/strong> and the Alumnae Award<\/strong> are presented to a senior boy and girl for general excellence in athletics, with emphasis on good sportsmanship and helpful spirit.<\/p>\n

\"DSCThe Denman Bowl was awarded to Isaac Sterman<\/strong>. Sterman, who will attend Fordham University, distinguished himself during his three years as an athlete at Williston. During the fall he was one of the top water polo goalies in New England. In the winter he leaves Williston having broken all of the school\u2019s diving records a number of times. Sterman was the swimming & diving team\u2019s MVP and earned All New England honors during both his junior and senior year. He has also earned an All American nomination. During the spring he was one of the top pitchers in the Western New England Prep Baseball League. He earned All League recognition the past two years and this year was named Pitcher of the Year in the Cleary Division.<\/p>\n

This year there were two recipients of the The Alumnae Award. Abby Hatch<\/strong>, who will attend Colby College, was a three sport captain during her senior year. In the fall, she had an exceptional career in the girls\u2019 soccer program earning four varsity letters while also being named the MVP and gaining all league recognition her senior year.\u00a0 During the winter, she demonstrated her exceptional athleticism by picking up squash as a sophomore earning three \"describevarsity letters, finishing her career this year as the #2 player for Williston.\u00a0\u00a0 In the spring, Hatch was a team captain and Davis Award winner for the very successful varsity girls\u2019 lacrosse team. In her four years the team compiled a record of 44-2.<\/p>\n

The second recipient, Meghann Treacy<\/strong>, who will attend the University of Maine also had an outstanding career at Williston spanning four years. She earned 12 varsity letters, captaining all three of her teams. In the fall, she was an outstanding midfielder on the field hockey team. In the winter, was arguably the best goalie in the history of our girls\u2019 program. The last two seasons she helped lead the team to our best seasons ever as the team won a combined 35 games. During her junior year she was named the top goaltender in NEPSAC Division One Girls Ice Hockey. During the spring as a goalie, she anchored one of the top defenses in the country for the girls\u2019 lacrosse team.<\/p>\n
