In the meet with Miss Porters and Suffield, she led off the 4x400m relay team that took 2nd place, and provided a trio of victories in individual events. \u00a0She finished ahead of the pack in the 100 m and won the long jump. \u00a0To finish off the meet, Gabby had an impressive debut in the triple jump, winning that event with a jump of 32\u201910.5\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"float: right\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/impt-athletics\/jaysylvia.jpg\" alt=\"jaysylvia\" border=\"0\" \/><strong>Jay Sylvia \u201812<\/strong><br \/>\nJay is off to a great start at the plate for the Wildcats hitting .391 on the year with a .522 OBP. \u00a0He leads the team with four home runs on the season. \u00a0Last week, he hit homers against Cheshire and Pomfret and had four hits in six at bats in those two games.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jill Slezek \u201814<\/strong><br \/>\nJill has proven to be an offensive and defensive threat for the JV softball team. \u00a0In two games last week, she went 5 for 6 at the plate, walked twice, and scored 6 runs. \u00a0From the mound, Jill was a force. \u00a0Against NMH, she struck out 3, walked 3, and helped her own cause with 11 put outs. \u00a0Against Loomis, she pitched a no hitter, striking out 8 in 5 innings and walking only 2; those are big league numbers at any level. \u00a0Her contributions have been central to the team\u2019s undefeated start.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gabrielle Thomas \u201815 Gabby is tearing it up on the track this season. \u00a0Against NMH and Wilbraham &amp; Monson Gabby placed second in the 100m and the long jump, while being a part of the 1st place 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams.
