Williston teams had an outstanding\u00a0week on the holiday tournament circuit. The girls basketball and hockey teams won the championship at their respective tournaments. Boys basketball and hockey each went 2-1 in their competitions and the wrestling team finished 6th of 18 teams at their tournament at Tabor Academy.<\/p>\n

\"brown<\/a>The girls basketball team defeated Brooks and Hopkins handily before winning a thrilling game against BB&N by a score of 67-59 to win the 27th Annual Ray Brown Holiday Tournament. The Wildcats had not won the tournament since 2005. Seniors Natalia Baum and Mary McCarthy were named to the All-Tournament Team, with Baum being selected the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.\u00a0Williston goes into the winter break with a 7-0 record.<\/p>\n

\"ghock<\/a>The girls hockey team topped an outstanding field of eight teams to bring home the championship of the 34th Annual Harrington Invitational Tournament hosted by Noble & Greenough School and Milton Academy. The girls defeated BB&N and host Nobles and earned a tie with Pomfret to advance to the championship game. In the championship the Wildcat’s defeated Westminster by a 2-0 margin. The girls enter the holiday break with a 5-0-2 record.<\/p>\n

The boys basketball team competed in the Bob Southall Christmas Classic at Loomis Chaffee School. After dropping the opening game to a strong Kimball Union Academy team, the Wildcats enjoyed comfortable wins against Hyde and Gunnery. The boys go into the break with a 6-1 record.<\/p>\n

The boys hockey team played at the St. Sebastian’s Holiday Tournament in Needham, MA. The Wildcat’s dropped\u00a0their opening contest 6-2 to St. Andrew’s College (Ontario), who entered the game with a 15-2-2 record. The team recovered to defeat Northwood School and Winchendon School in tight, exciting games.<\/p>\n

Finally, the wrestling team had a successful Battle of the Bay Tournament at Tabor Academy finishing in 6th place overall. \u00a0John Kay ’15 finished first at 220, while Sam Atkins ’15 (195), Hunter Adams ’17 (132) and Mikey Lloyd ’16 (138) each finished in third place and Bina Sweet ’17 (113) finished in fourth place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
