As a coach, this superpower served her well.\u00a0Over her 43 years at both Northampton School for Girls and Williston Northampton (from 1967-2011), Sue coached soccer, field hockey, basketball, and softball, to name a few.\u00a0At NSFG, she often\u00a0coached two sports at the same time: soccer on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, and field hockey on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/Screenshot-2015-05-29-16.25.00.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1922\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/Screenshot-2015-05-29-16.25.00-278x300.png\" alt=\"Screenshot 2015-05-29 16.25.00\" width=\"278\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/Screenshot-2015-05-29-16.25.00-278x300.png 278w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/Screenshot-2015-05-29-16.25.00-232x250.png 232w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/Screenshot-2015-05-29-16.25.00.png 362w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 278px) 100vw, 278px\" \/><\/a>In an interview for <i>The Bulletin\u00a0<\/i>in 2012, Sue said that what she had loved best about NSFG had been &#8220;the kids.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I coached, I ran a dorm, I had PE classes,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I&#8217;m still in touch with hundreds [of students]. I&#8217;ve seen them grow up, fail, pick themselves up again, succeed, raise families. That&#8217;s what I loved from start to finish.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sue currently holds the Williston Northampton record for career wins in softball with 85 (54 losses). Even after she stepped down as the head coach, Sue continued to work with the team as an assistant. Even now, she can be spotted\u00a0cheering the team on from the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, dinner, and reception was\u00a0held on Saturday, June 6, 2015.\u00a0Sue Barnett&#8217;s\u00a0award was\u00a0presented to her by\u00a0the Rev.
