{"id":1813,"date":"2015-06-02T10:44:31","date_gmt":"2015-06-02T10:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/?p=1813"},"modified":"2015-06-15T19:13:13","modified_gmt":"2015-06-15T19:13:13","slug":"athletic-hall-of-fame-2015-1992-boys-golf-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/2015\/06\/02\/athletic-hall-of-fame-2015-1992-boys-golf-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletic Hall of Fame 2015: 1992 Boys Golf Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2015 Athletic Hall of Fame:  1992 Boys Golf Team\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BaBfyCYpi04?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The 1992 boys golf team started a mini-dynasty at Williston Northampton by going 15-1 under the leadership of longtime faculty member Bob Blanchette.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">That year, the team had wins over Loomis Chaffee, Northfield Mount Hermon, the Williams College junior varsity team, Deerfield, Choate, and Suffield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/image004.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1907\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/image004.jpeg\" alt=\"image004\" width=\"293\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/image004.jpeg 293w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/05\/image004-250x120.jpeg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/a>With captains Jeff Brunelle \u201992 and John Swierzewski \u201892, the team won the prestigious Kingswood Invitational Tournament (the New England championship) with an impressive score of 407. Jeff Brunelle led the way by medaling with a 74.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;The Golf Team enjoyed its most successful season ever,&#8221; proclaimed the 1992 yearbook. &#8220;John fixed a 72 at the Loomis course, while Jeff sparkled at Williams College with a 2 under par 69.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Following graduation, the team travelled south to take on top prep schools in the Eastern Seaboard Championships, where they took home the title in the 3-Man Division with a final score of 475.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Team members included seniors Brunelle, Swierzewski, junior Greg Knight, and sophomores Paul Burns, Chris Shields and Aaron Uschmann.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On June 6, at the official Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the\u00a0boys golf team\u00a0award will be accepted by Jeff Brunelle &#8217;92.<\/p>\n<p><em><em>The Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, dinner, and reception will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015.
