Her big sister, Sydney, was playing hockey and she would, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to play with the boys growing up,\u201d Ms. Belinskas said last week. \u201cComing in [to Williston] as a freshman, everyone was good. I wasn\u2019t used to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the senior\u2019s poster\u00a0choice proved prophetic when she signed a national letter of intent to play with the Division 1 Boston College Eagles. Ms. Belinskas was joined at the ceremony by her teammates Rachel Rockwell \u201916, who signed with Providence College, and Morgan Fisher \u201916, who signed with the University of Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2198\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2198\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/11\/delaney-belinskas-16-signs-with_23046933906_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2198\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/11\/delaney-belinskas-16-signs-with_23046933906_o-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Mark Mantegna\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/11\/delaney-belinskas-16-signs-with_23046933906_o-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/11\/delaney-belinskas-16-signs-with_23046933906_o-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2015\/11\/delaney-belinskas-16-signs-with_23046933906_o-167x250.jpg 167w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2198\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Mark Mantegna<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ms. Belinskas said that Boston College, the last school she had toured, felt like a natural fit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI chose Boston College because it felt right,\u201d she said. \u201cThe team was welcoming, the coaches were cool, and it was my style.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The forward, who was named to the All New England Second Team after last year\u2019s incredible run of 20 victories, credited both her family and her teammates for helping her succeed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[My parents] have pushed me to be the best and try my hardest every moment of my life,\u201d she wrote in an email. \u201cWithout their support and love I wouldn&#8217;t be where I am today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Belinskas\u2019 parents, Phyliss and Stephen, who flew from their home in Florida to attend the signing on Friday, said they had known deep down that their younger daughter, like Sydney who plays for Trinity College, would play competitively at the next level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s worked really hard to earn this,\u201d Mrs. Belinskas said of Delaney.<\/p>\n<p>While Ms. Belinskas&#8217; college choice won\u2019t take her far from Williston, she said one of the things, she\u2019ll miss most about Williston is being able to play outside in the winter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll miss skating on the pond,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s fun to be outdoors.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When she was 12, the only poster on Delaney Belinskas\u2019 wall was for Boston College.
