He had a great game Saturday night at Taft as he contributed in all three phases of the game. Defensively he was a responsible for only allowing Taft to pass for 47 yards, basically shutting down their passing game. Offensively he had a catch at wide receiver and also had two rushes for 15 yards at running back. On special teams he continued to be a contributor on kickoff, kickoff return, punt, and punt return. Elijah has stepped up huge this season and helps lead his team through his hard work off the field and his determined play on the field.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Claire Harrison \u201819 &#8211; Girls Cross Country<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/harrison.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3524\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/harrison.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Claire has had a great start to the season for the Wildcats. On Saturday, she again placed second for Williston, placing her 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0out of 60 runners at the Richard Miller Invitational. She ran a 5K time of 22:42 on a tough Westminster course, over a minute faster than her time on the same course last year.\u00a0With a completely reliable and impressive effort and attitude, Claire continues to serve as an exemplary role model in practice and in races. Claire provides unswerving and enthusiastic support of her teammates and she remains a crucial runner on the team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Wyatt Wegrzyn \u201819 \u2013 Boys Varsity Soccer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/wyatt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3525\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/wyatt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Wyatt has proven to be a great leader for the Wildcats\u2019 midfield this season. The Wildcats remain undefeated, largely because of his efforts, as he has been instrumental in both attack and defense in every game. Recently, he scored a game-tying goal against powerhouse Cushing, and he scored and assisted in a 6-1 defeat of Pomfret. Wyatt will continue to play a crucial role for the team as they head into a challenging October schedule.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Dylan Fulcher- Melendy \u201820 \u2013 Girls Varsity Volleyball<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/fulcher.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3526\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/fulcher.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Dylan has been a rock of consistency and support for the Wildcats this season. She possesses a tireless work ethic, always trying to better herself and her teammates. Recently, she has answered the call of her team by moving positions to setter, showing her \u201cteam first\u201d mentality. Against Stoneleigh Burnham her tireless effort showed as she was able to set up her teammates for some excellent hits. \u00a0Dylan is always prepared and encourages her teammates to keep working and keep smiling!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Nick Sinofsky \u201820- Boys Cross country<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/nick.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3527\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/nick.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Nick has been a great addition to the Wildcats this fall.\u00a0 His performance on Saturday at the Richard Miller Invitational was exceptional.\u00a0 He ran a smart race starting in the top five and moved his way up to third in the middle mile of the race.\u00a0 In the final stretch on the track, he passed a runner from Westminster to earn 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0place out of 63 runners. Nick ran 17:30, which is a minute improvement over his personal best. Nick has been our number 1 runner in all three races this season.\u00a0 He arrives ready to work hard, pushes himself and teammates and is eager to do well in practice and races.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Campbell Nyarady \u201819\u2013 Girls Varsity Soccer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/campbell.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3528\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/campbell.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Campbell has come up big on many occasions for the Wildcats this season.\u00a0 She is a constant offensive threat, and this week she proved it even more. On Wednesday she had a goal and an assist against a strong Hotchkiss team. On Saturday, she wasn\u2019t done, as she added another goal against nearby rival Wilbraham Monson.\u00a0 Campbell is a hard worker and a tremendous competitor who always does whatever her team asks of her to help the team be successful. Her \u201cteam first\u201d mentality provides a great example for everyone on the team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Shogo Kamei \u201920 \u2013\u00a0 Boys Varsity Water Polo<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/sho.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3529\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/sho.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"186\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Shogo has made impressive strides so far this season. Only playing water polo for the past several weeks, he was thrust into a starting role in the game against Hotchkiss. His amazing effort on both the defensive and offensive ends of the pool were instrumental in the team\u2019s 11-8 victory. He managed to score 3 of the teams goals, which was the difference in the game. Shogo\u2019s intense effort and vast improvement so far this season are indicative of the team\u2019s progress thus far this season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Julia MacLean \u201818 &#8211; Varsity Field Hockey<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/juila-m.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3530\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/juila-m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Julia has really hit her stride this year for the Wildcats.\u00a0As a senior, she has emerged as a skilled leader on our forward line and is one of our top scorers. She added to her stats by scoring 3 goals this week alone against tough squads from Hotchkiss and Millbrook. She is a versatile and athletic player and she has been such an important part of the team\u2019s success, as she can be moved to any position on the field when needed. \u00a0This alone proves that she has a \u201cteam first\u201d mentality, which provides a great example for her teammates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>George Goodhead \u201818 \u2013 Boys JVB Soccer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/goodhead.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3531\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/goodhead.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">As a new goalie, George has strived to stop every shot that comes his way for the Wildcats. In a hard fought battle with Salisbury last week, he was instrumental in keeping the final score manageable and he gave his team a shot at a comeback. He played excellent as he stopped every ground shot and even stretched to the bar, tipping hard shots away. The Wildcats will continue to look to him in their times of need this season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Ella Goodman \u201919 \u2013 Girls JV Soccer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/goodman.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3532\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/goodman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Ella has been a force for the Wildcats so far this season. She has been working extremely hard on and off the field. This paid off on Saturday as she was recognized by her opponents as player of the match! She leads by example everyday showing her teammates the meaning of sportsmanship and hard work!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Jade Chan \u201820- Girls JV Volleyball<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/jade-chan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3533\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/jade-chan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/jade-chan.jpg 177w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/10\/jade-chan-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 177px) 100vw, 177px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Jade has played great for the Wildcats all year. This week, she showed great athleticism and skill against Pomfret and Stoneleigh Burnham. In both games she had several consecutive aces helping lead her team to victory. She has also shown great leadership as a secondary captain for the team in her enthusiastic support for her teammates. She is consistent as both a setter and an attacker, and can play with anyone on the court.
