{"id":3686,"date":"2017-12-13T16:27:51","date_gmt":"2017-12-13T16:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/?p=3686"},"modified":"2017-12-13T16:33:16","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T16:33:16","slug":"athletes-of-the-week-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/2017\/12\/13\/athletes-of-the-week-28\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletes of the Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Abood Abuissa \u201918- Boys Varsity Basketball<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/abood.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3687\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/abood.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Abood\u2019s inspired play has been instrumental in leading varsity boys basketball to a 3-0 start this season.\u00a0 \u00a0In consecutive wins over AA schools Gould Academy and Wilbraham &amp; Monson Academy, Abood made a number of \u201cwinning plays\u201d on both ends of the court to spark his team.\u00a0 His infectious positive energy and leadership have made a tremendous difference in helping the team get off to a great start.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Julia MacLean \u201918- Girls Varsity Hockey<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/julia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3688\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/julia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Julia has been a valuable member of the team so far this season as she has been a threat both offensively and defensively.\u00a0 This year Julia scored our first goal against Millbrook, which was in the opening minutes on a power play.\u00a0 This goal proved to be the game winner for the Wildcats. Last Wednesday, the team faced an excellent goaltender from Cushing, who pushed the game into overtime. It was Julia that came up with a big shot from the point to score the game winning goal.\u00a0 Julia is consistently composed and reliable in all situations.\u00a0 The Wildcats will look to her for her strong leadership and play making ability for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Natalie Romain \u201818- Girls Varsity Basketball<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/nat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3689\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2017\/12\/nat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Natalie had an outstanding first week of play for the Wildcats. Her efforts and determination have been second to none and it has paid off greatly. In the teams 2 games last week she managed to score nearly 20 points, pulled down 18 rebounds, and provided a constant force in the paint for the Wildcats.
