On Saturday he followed up with another 14 points against MacDuffie, including 3 three pointers.\u00a0As the team\u2019s best free throw shooter, he was 9 of 10 in both games.\u00a0 Duncan\u2019s positive competitive spirit and commitment to being the best teammate he can be is a big part of his terrific contribution to this year\u2019s team.\u00a0The team will continue to look to Duncan\u2019s leadership to help them through the rest of their challenging season.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Gabby Jones \u201918- Girls Varsity Hockey<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/gabby.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3710\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/gabby.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Gabby has had a tremendous stretch and had some big goals for the Wildcats this season. At the Winchendon Tournament right after the new year, she was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts. In the past week, she continues to be a leader and offensive force for the team as she contributed three goals and an assist in the 5-0 over Berkshire. Many of her goals and line-mates\u2019 goals have come from her outstanding efforts on the defensive side of the puck.\u00a0 Additionally, Gabby continued her contributions on Friday night as she tallied a big goal and assist in the 5-4\u00a0win vs. St. Marks. Gabby\u2019s play and leadership have been crucial to the team\u2019s success this season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Henry Poehlein \u201918 &#8211; Boys Varsity Squash<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/henry.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3711\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/henry.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Henry has been a crucial part of the Wildcat\u2019s success this season. On Saturday, it proved to be no different. He was under tremendous pressure to get the win, as St. Mark&#8217;s fought from behind to take a 3-2 advantage and only needed one more match to seal the overall win. Falling down 2 sets to 1 early on, he turned on the \u201cafterburners\u201d in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> set and shocked his opponent with blinding speed and accuracy. Henry dug deep and won the match for himself and for Williston!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Nico Gomes-Rapozza &#8217;22- Co-ed 3rds Squash<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/nico.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3712\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/nico.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"158\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Since the start of the season,\u00a0Nico has demonstrated a continuous and contagious love for the game of squash. Nico regularly arrives early to practice and he is often the last one to leave the court. He frequently assists novice players to improve their serving and return technique while fostering their confidence in the sport. This past Saturday,\u00a0Nico led the thirds squash team to an exciting and challenging match against Bement, encouraging his teammates to keep an eye on their opponent throughout the match and maintain control of the court. Nico embodies a can-do mindset\u00a0to learning\u00a0new skills by watching the homework videos and then\u00a0putting them to practice the following day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Jade Chan \u201920 &#8211; Girls JV Hockey<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/jade-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3716\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/jade-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/jade-1.jpg 177w, https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/jade-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 177px) 100vw, 177px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Jade has been a force in net for the Wildcats this season.\u00a0 In the squad\u2019s recent come from behind 5-3 win over Berkshire, Jade recorded 22 saves and helped keep her team in the game. On Saturday against Westminster, Jade managed to again produce another 22 saves in the eventual loss for the Wildcats. Jade has slid into the squad\u2019s starting goalie spot this season and has been vital to the team\u2019s success so far.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Mateo Bratt \u201923- Boys 4ths Basketball<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/mateo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3714\" src=\"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/athletics\/files\/2018\/01\/mateo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Mateo has had a great season so far for the Wildcats. On Wednesday, against Kingswood-Oxford, he played a key role in getting the squad started by knocking down two big 3&#8217;s early in the game. On Saturday against Bement, he continued his fantastic play, as he led the team with 8 points. Not only was he stellar on the offensive end of the floor, but he was disruptive\u00a0on the defensive end, forcing turnovers which created opportunities for his teammates.
