\"\"<\/a>Was there any title that Patrick Rissmiller ’97 didn\u2019t earn? It doesn\u2019t seem likely. During his time at Williston, the ice hockey star (who also the most valuable player and All-League selection for soccer and team captain in lacrosse) led the team to a 23-4 record. For those keeping score, that\u2019s the most wins in school history.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy parents wanted me to repeat my junior year in high school,\u201d said Mr. Rissmiller of on his two years at Williston Northampton.\u00a0 \u201cIt worked out great.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his senior year, Mr. Rissmiller was named both captain and MVP. While cranking out enough points to put him third for all-time single season totals, Mr. Rissmiller was named an All-New England selection, and NEPSAC West Senior All-Star. He was also selected to play for the Team Massachusetts in Chicago Showcase.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the guy you want out there (on the ice) if you\u2019ve got a penalty shot.\u00a0 He\u2019ll put it past most goalies,” said Mike Fay, boys varsity ice hockey coach. “He\u2019s just a really creative player who sees the game well and makes things happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

At College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., Mr. Rissmiller became a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference darling and was named to that organization\u2019s All-Rookie team (1999). He was also named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year (2002), and MAAC First Team All-MAAC selection (2002). He ranks second in career points for the college and was a finalist for the Walter Brown Award. He was also named the best American-born player in New England, and was inducted to the Holy Cross Hall of Fame in 2010.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rissmiller has played 538 career games in the American Hockey League, where he was named a 2006 and 2010 All-Star. He has also played 222 games for such National Hockey League teams as the San Jose Sharks, NY Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers, and Florida Panthers. He has 21 goals, 35 assists, and 56 career points in the NHL. At least, so far.<\/p>\n
