We got a quick bite to eat in Grand Central before walking about a mile south to the Museum of Math!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Williston visits the Museum of Math! - 2\/22\/15\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fnMx8tLdsvw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The greatest surprise of the day was how wonderful the weather turned out! Our walk to the Museum of Math was full of sun and the hum of NYC!<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8580\/16437081758_c094a796ba_z.jpg\" alt=\"Outside the Museum of Math!\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Outside the Museum of Math!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Inside the Museum of Math we found two floors filled with a myriad of interactive stations! We immediately had a round on the bike with square wheels&#8230;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8633\/16002084794_9a85d460c9_z.jpg\" alt=\"A bike with square wheels!\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">A bike with square wheels!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230;and then moved over to the &#8220;Position, Velocity, and Acceleration&#8221; station!<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8610\/16437242970_84682c8f98_z.jpg\" alt=\"Position! Acceleration!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Downstairs we had a fantastic time on the &#8220;Right Turn Maze&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8645\/16437242580_a5a2ce2326_z.jpg\" alt=\"Edit Post \u2039 Math Team \u2014 WordPress\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Right turn maze! Can you find the correct path?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230;and the fractal dancing projection booth!<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8606\/16416964417_679dcdce37_z.jpg\" alt=\"Fractal dancing!\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fractal dancing!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After a solid two hours exploring all of the stations, we went back out into the city and walked north west through Times Square!<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8608\/16623146561_d04d52ee60_z.jpg\" alt=\"Times Square!\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Times Square!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We then caught the subway to American Museum of Natural History where we saw the &#8220;Dark Universe&#8221; IMAX show at the Hayden Planetarium! Amazing show, especially with the narration by\u00a0Neil deGrasse Tyson!<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8569\/16002082254_a16ce9462b_z.jpg\" alt=\"Dino!\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dino!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Back outside in the sun, we walked a diagonal across Central Park, to the southwest corner of the park, past the skating rink and many great views of the city.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8566\/16598297346_8ca0789cf5_z.jpg\" alt=\"Central Park\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Central Park<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We then walked south down 5th avenue, checking out the shops and making a pass by the Rockefeller skating rink.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8676\/16623146251_6e07313d38_z.jpg\" alt=\"Rockefeller\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rockefeller<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We then wrapped up our time in the city with a very tasty Japanese dinner, before hoping back on a train at Grand Central bound for New Haven.<\/p>\n<p>We made it back to campus around 9:45pm, excited by all that we had seen and done during the day.
