Chmura (1956 &#8211; 2013)<\/p>\n<p>HATFIELD &#8211; Edward J. Chmura, 56, of 11 Scotland Road, passed away suddenly Monday, March 25, 2013, at home.<\/p>\n<p>Born Aug. 29, 1956, in Northampton, he was the son of Mildred (Novak) Chmura and the late Eugene Chmura.\u00a0 Ed grew up in Hadley but also spent much time in Hatfield farming with his family.<\/p>\n<p>In 1974, he graduated from Hopkins Academy. He later earned an associate&#8217;s degree in accounting from Holyoke Community College.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Ed was the plant operations manager at the Williston Northampton School for 31 years.<\/p>\n<p>Ed was a member of the St. Kazimierza Polish Club in Hatfield and was a former Little League coach. He enjoyed going to the beach with family and friends, especially Cape Cod.<\/p>\n<p>Besides his mother Mildred Chmura of Hatfield, Ed is survived by his wife Marie (Kuchyt) Chmura; his son Brian M. Chmura; his daughter Jenny A. Chmura; his brothers Stephen Chmura and John Chmura, all of Hatfield; his sisters Ann Donnis of Hatfield; and Jeanie Sullivan of Sunderland; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>He was predeceased by his father Eugene and his sister Carol Fagnant.<\/p>\n<p>Ed&#8217;s Funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial in Our Lady of Grace Church in Hatfield at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley.\u00a0 Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, friends and family may contribute to a scholarship at the Williston Northampton School in Ed&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p>Published in Daily Hampshire Gazette on March\u00a029,\u00a02013<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edward J.
