\"0134\"<\/a>Daniel deForest Lucier, 55, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2013 surrounded by his wife, children, brother, and much-loved chocolate lab, Sophie, after a valiant 5-year battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

He was born on October 2, 1958 in Hartford, CT to Joseph and Priscilla Lucier. Dan was raised in Foxboro, MA. He loved tennis, skiing at Okemo, VT, and yearly treks to Chatham, MA for summer vacations, where he developed a deep love of the ocean. He graduated from Foxboro High School, and did a post-graduate year at the Williston Northampton School. Dan received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont in 1981.<\/p>\n

Dan met his beloved wife Lynn when they were both students at the University of Vermont; they were married on June 19, 1982. They celebrated their 30th anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony last summer at their home. They were the love of each other\u2019s lives and best friends. Dan was a skilled financial advisor, and enjoyed a productive 30-year partnership with Gary Roney. Dan loved meeting people, was a generous host and thoughtful friend, and charmed every doctor and nurse he encountered. No matter how poorly he felt, he was always concerned for others.<\/p>\n

His true passion was his family. Dan’s children, Jessica, Danielle and Jake, each enjoyed a beautiful relationship with their dad. He loved coming home to jump into projects, homework, and, of course, sports. Dan was a long time AYSO coach, served as manager and president of soccer clubs, and sat on boards of gymnastics clubs and at Santa Margarita Catholic High School soccer. He coached soccer and lacrosse at St. Anne School and lacrosse at JSerra Catholic High School.<\/p>\n

He deeply loved his family and was a favorite uncle to his 8 nieces and nephews. Dan continued his love of the ocean with a sport-fishing boat purchase, lovingly named “Good Fight.”<\/p>\n

This was for his favorite bible verse, 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the Good Fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” It was his faith that held him up through his illness, and we rely on our faith to carry on. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and his love for his family will never diminish or be forgotten. He will continue to serve as an example to his family and his community of how a husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend should act and how love, hard work, integrity, determination, generosity, and a sense of humor can impact others.<\/p>\n

He is survived by Lynn; his parents; his siblings Mark, Leslie, and David; and his three children. A memorial service will be held at Ocean Hills Mariners in San Juan Capistrano, on Friday, October 11 at 2pm.
