Four students will have their films screened at a showcase of young filmmakers in Northampton this weekend.<\/p>\n
Jilly Lim, Cade Zawacki, Alex Kozikowski, and Charles Frank all had work accepted by YouthFilm 2013, which will take place at the Academic of Music Theatre on Saturday.<\/p>\n
In congratulatory letters to the students, the festival\u2019s review panel described the various films as \u201creally well made,\u201d \u201cfunny,\u201d \u201coriginal,\u201d \u201ccaptivating,\u201d and \u201cprofessional.\u201d<\/p>\n
The reviewers described Ms. Lim\u2019s film, The Guilt<\/em>, as having an \u201camazing story, great camera angles, you’re not afraid to move the camera around…The story hits home.\u201d<\/p>\n Boom Guy 2.0<\/em> by Mr. Zawacki was described as\u00a0 \u201cfunny, clever, original idea\u2026That last scene with Ed is great, the cherry on top!\u201d<\/p>\n Mr. Kozikowski\u2019s Three Short Pieces<\/em> earned praise for having excellent camerawork with \u201cslow, short pans, the low angles, everything is really captivating and flows smoothly. The light is really nice as well. An excellent film!\u201d<\/p>\n The review panel also accepted two of Mr. Frank\u2019s films, Breezeless<\/em> and Listen<\/em>, which they described as \u201ca notch above the rest.\u00a0 Camera work\u2026lighting, colors, editing, all worked so well together and told such great visual stories. And great performances, too!
