A dozen Spanish Cinema Conversation students will visit Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, on April 29 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jackson Heights, also known as “Little Colombia” for its large Colombian immigrant population, is the setting of two movies of the Cinema class. Students will learn first-hand about “Little Colombia” by interviewing community leaders, one of which is Orlando Tobon, known as “The Mayor of Little Colombia” who served as co-producer of the award-winning movie “Maria Full of Grace.” Nat Simpson will be overseeing the trip.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
