New items this year in the Writing Center:<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Williston Writing Manual with sections for each of the disciplines
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Middle School program that connects Writing Center tutors with the Middle School during the \u201chelp\u201d period at the end of the day
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A defined connection with Tina Berghoff to help identify students who need additional support in writing and language skills<\/p>\n
Some reminders:\u00a0 The Writing Center is open for most of the class day and for evening study hall.\u00a0 Tutors are being trained next week, so we’ll be working with full hours by next Wednesday.\u00a0 We offer short (around 15-20 pain-free minutes) one-on-one consultations for writers at any level and at any stage of the writing process.\u00a0 Students are welcome to drop by or to make an appointment by emailing writing@williston.com or, in a week or so, by signing up on our web calendar.\u00a0 I send the schedule out each Sunday.<\/p>\n
During the day:
\nCome visit us!\u00a0 If it is not periods B, E, or F, I am likely to be there.\u00a0 If you know you need to meet at a specific time, just email me and we will set something up.<\/p>\n
During the night:
\nWe are open every night for evening study hall from 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that fabulous?<\/p>\n

\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your question can be BIG (\u201cPlease help me improve this US History paper!\u00a0 It\u2019s horrible and I\u2019m freaking out!\u201d) or small (\u201cCan you decipher my teacher\u2019s scrawl on page four?\u201d).
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You DO NOT need an appointment!\u00a0 Later, we will have a fancy sign-up system which you can use if that\u2019s your thing.\u00a0 We love it when people drop by.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Writing Center is on the second floor of the library.\u00a0 There is a candy jar.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 EVERYONE benefits from help with writing.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You will not be the only one going to the Writing Center.\u00a0 We see over 1,000 visits each year.\u00a0 Why not you?<\/p>\n
