{"id":152,"date":"2012-10-14T09:33:33","date_gmt":"2012-10-14T13:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/speeches\/?p=152"},"modified":"2012-10-12T11:36:55","modified_gmt":"2012-10-12T15:36:55","slug":"governor-generals-academic-medal-acceptance-speech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/willistonblogs.com\/speeches\/2012\/10\/14\/governor-generals-academic-medal-acceptance-speech\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor General\u2019s Academic Medal Acceptance Speech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The following speech was presented by Gabriel Archambault in French as an acceptance speech for the Governor General&#8217;s Academic Medal ceremony on Saturday, October 13, 2012.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>English (translation)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and graduates.<\/p>\n<p>I would have liked to be with you this evening. \u00a0I&#8217;m not there in person right now because I&#8217;m studying at Williston Northampton in Massachusetts. \u00a0When you see this video, I&#8217;ll be playing in a soccer match. \u00a0I hope we&#8217;re winning.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to thank at my teachers at Saint-Paul who taught me a great deal \u00a0I would also like to thank my friends who added to my great experience at school. In addition, I thank my parents, brother, and friends who encourage me from afar.<\/p>\n<p>I knew that we were going to receive our high school diplomas. \u00a0I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I was the recipient of the Governor General&#8217;s medal. I am truly honored by this recognition.<\/p>\n<p>To all the graduates: Good luck for the start of the CEGEP term. I&#8217;ll be thinking of you.<\/p>\n<p>To my friends, I&#8217;ll be in Qu\u00e9bec for 10 days in November to celebrate American Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>See you soon; I&#8217;m thinking of you fondly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>French (original)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bonsoir a vous, messieurs, mesdames et diplomes<\/p>\n<p>J&#8217;aurais beaucoup aime etre parmi vous ce soir.\u00a0 Si je ne suis pas physiquement avec vous c&#8217;est parce que j&#8217;etudie au prep school Williston Northampton dans l&#8217;etat du Massachusetts.\u00a0 Lorsque vous verrez ce video, je serai en train de jouer un match de football.\u00a0 J&#8217;espere qu&#8217;on est en train gagner.<\/p>\n<p>J&#8217;aimerais remercier tous les professeurs du College Saint-Paul qui m&#8217;ont permis d&#8217;acquerrir un grand bagage de connaissances.\u00a0 J&#8217;aimerais remercier aussi mes amis qui ont contribue a ce que l&#8217;atmosphere au College soit si agreable pour moi.\u00a0 Je remercie aussi mes parents, mon frere et ma blonde qui m&#8217;encouragent peu importe la distance.<\/p>\n<p>Je savais que nous allions recevoir notre diplome d&#8217;etudes secondaires.\u00a0 J&#8217;ai ete agreablement surpris d&#8217;apprendre que je recevais aussi la medaille de gouverneur general.\u00a0 Je suis vraiment tres honore de cette marque de reconnaissance.<\/p>\n<p>A tous les diplomes; Bonne chance pour votre session de CEGEP qui debute.\u00a0 Je pense a vous.<\/p>\n<p>A mes amis, je serai au Quebec en novembre pour 10 jours pour feter la thanksgiving americaine.<\/p>\n<p>A Bienttot, vous etes dans mon couer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following speech was presented by Gabriel Archambault in French as an acceptance speech for the Governor General&#8217;s Academic Medal ceremony on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
