Alexandra Starzyk had no idea why Athletic Director Mark Conroy was calling her name during assembly. The varsity ice hockey player knew that she had done well over the course of her senior season, but had no idea that in the course of the season she’d also set new school records.

So, when Mr. Conroy announced that Ms. Starzyk had reached a career 100 goals—something only three girls had done before—and, at 119 goals, was the new all-time leading scorer, she was amazed.

Williston Swimmers Impress at NEPSAC Division II Championship

It was an impressive weekend for the Williston swimmers as they competed in the NEPSAC Division II Championship at Wesleyan University. There were incredible swims across the team, and almost every swimmer had significant drops in time.

Eighth grader Natalie Aquadro won a Division II title for the second year in a row, setting a new record in the 100 breaststroke, and finishing third in the 500 freestyle. It was a terrific day for all the Middle Schools, including Natalie. Maya Soley ’18 and David Fitch ’17 both placed in the top three in their respective events, and Calvin Frye ’16 ended the day with two fourth place finishes, including one in the 200 freestyle after dropping an amazing six seconds. Samantha Frye ’13 finished third in the 100 breaststroke.

Congratulations to the Williston swimmers!
