The Williston Northampton School was represented by Jay Sylvia ’12 and Alex Paolo ’12 at the recent Bauer Invitational Hockey Tournament in Blair, MN. The two were selected to the New England Prep All-Star team after a successful fall season with their team, the Bulldogs, in the Western New England Fall Prep Elite League. The All-Star team consisted of prep players from this league, along with players from the Eastern Fall Prep Elite League.
The Prep All-Stars played the U18 Norwegian National Team (L6-2), the Massachusetts High School All-Stars (W9-3), and the Northwood School (L7-5). During the weekend Paolo recorded two goals and an assist while Sylvia added an assist of his own.
“I was very happy for Jay and Alex to have this experience. They are both great ambassadors for Williston Northampton, and I heard nothing but good things from their coaches on the trip. They represented the school very well,” commented Boys Varsity Coach Derek Cunha.
The Boys Hockey team is excited for the start of their season. They will face off against four of New England’s top teams early in this year’s season. Williston hosted Kimball Union (11/30) in the team’s opener, traveled to Salisbury (12/3), and will welcome Cushing Academy (12/7) and The Gunnery (12/10) this week.
