Winter Sports Awards and Academic All Americans

The winter sports season is fading in the rearview mirror, and with spring storms leaving traces of snow around campus, it’s hard to believe winter sports are becoming a dim memory. But Athletic Director Mark Conroy wanted the Williston community to remember some exemplary sports achievements during the winter term and expanded the list of recognition-worthy students he offered in March.

In addition, three students earned Academic All American awards in Swimming and Diving. Roughly 340,000 students are involved in aquatics at the high school level in more than 16,000 programs for boys and girls. Approximately 2 percent of these students are recognized as high school Academic All Americans.

The criteria are as follows. Students must:

  • Be a four-year member of the team
  • Have earned at least two varsity letters
  • Have a four-year (11-trimester) cumulative GPA higher than 93.75

Three Williston seniors have earned Academic All Americans:

  • Gabby Mercier
  • Emily Yeager
  • Tomasz Paluchowski

Congratulations to all! And Go Wildcats!
