Abigail Touhey ’22- Girls Varsity Track

Abigail has started off strong for the Wildcats this season. On Wednesday, Abigail ran the 1500m, running a quick 5:45. She raced side by side with her teammate the entire three and three-quarter laps, and had just enough of a kick to nab the win at the finish line. On Saturday, at the competitive Deerfield Relays, Abigail was the anchor leg of the distance medley relay. She got the baton in a tight three-way race, but after just a lap, it was just her and a girl from Andover. Abigail ran a courageous and tough race, helping the team earn a well-deserved 2nd place in the junior DMR, running a 5:51.

Jake Goodman ’19- Boys Varsity Track

Jake has been a strong contributor for the Wildcats this season, and it continued on Wednesday. Jake earned the win in a cold and wet 400m race. On Saturday, he would go on to demolish his time from earlier in the week, with a pair of blazing quick 400s. Jake ran the second leg of the varsity DMR and pulled Williston back into the second pack of runners with a 53 second split.  Just over an hour later, he led off the 4×400 and set the tone for the race with a blistering 52.2 – the fastest split of his career.  Jake’s lead, in combination with his teammates performance, won their heat in an exciting finish after a back and forth race with Worcester.

Shana Hecht ’18- Girls Varsity Lacrosse

Shana has been a big part of the Wildcats success this season. On Wednesday against Westminster, she continued her dominance in net by racking up 12 saves. Many of these saves were at key moments in the eventual victory. The Wildcat defense has been outstanding this season and it is anchored by Shana.  She works tremendously hard in the off season and at practice to perfect her craft and she gives her all to better the team.

Nithish Raja ’18- Boys Varsity Tennis

Nitish continued to demonstrate incredible mental toughness this Saturday against Northfield Mt. Hermon. During the doubles phase he and his partner were up 5-2, but their opponents then switched gears and playing style, ending up with the lead at 6-5.  At last Nithish and his partner got back on track and won the next three games taking the win 8-6.  Afterwards Nithish became the only Wildcat to take a singles win. Nithish’s determination and focus will continue to provide a positive example for the rest of the team.

Mary Koback ’17- Girls Varsity Water Polo

Mary had a great week for the girls water polo team. A strong week of practice prepared her for three great games. As the leading scorer with 3 goals in a tight battle with Loomis on Wednesday, Mary scored the decisive winning score with less than 4 minutes remaining. This past weekend Mary was instrumental in victories over Exeter and Choate as she proved to be a leader both offensively and defensively. As a senior leader Mary was been a great role model for this young team.

Rob Champigny ’18- Boys Varsity Lacrosse

Rob has been a strong contributor for the Wildcats this season. He capped off a fantastic week on Saturday, registering 10 points highlighted by a 5 goal and 2 assist outing against Hopkins. In addition to his contributions on offense, he had a great defensive game in an overtime win against Wilbraham & Monson on Wednesday.  Rob works hard on and off the field and is there when his team calls on him in times of need, speaking to his “team first” mentality.

Anna Zusi ’22- Girls JV Lacrosse

Anna has played great for the Wildcats this season. On Wednesday, she led the team as she scored 5 goals against Kingswood-Oxford. Anna’s incredible speed allows her to be versatile and helps provide many opportunities for the team. She displays hard work day in and day out at practice and demonstrates a “team first” mentality, strong attributes for the rest of her team to admire and model.
