Shields ’61, P’90, ’94 Given Lifetime Achievement Award

Dresser-Hull Lumber and Building Supply Co. owner Richard Shields ’61, P’90, ’94 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lee Chamber of Commerce in a ceremony on Tuesday, November 19.

Since his tenure began as a Trustee of the Williston Northampton School, Mr. Shields has also served as the Chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, a member of the Facilities task force, and on the Finance committee.

Jennifer duBois ’02 Visits Local Bookstore

Next Monday, November 25, at 7:00 p.m., Jennifer duBois ’02 will present her newest novel, Cartwheel,  at Broadside Books on Main Street in Northampton, MA. Published by Random House, Cartwheel depicts the murder of a study abroad student in Buenos Aires.

LeavingEnglandBlogSizeJim Bayles ’70, a Masters World Championship swimmer, has swum across the English Channel, around Manhattan, and through the tumultuous current from Cape Cod to Nantucket. A competitive athlete at Williston, and later at Dartmouth College, Mr. Bayles now swims to raise money for charity, namely the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut.

What is your first memory of being in the water?
It was either at a country club or out in a lake in Northern Michigan. Swimming has always been something I enjoyed, even when I wasn’t very good. I just love being in the water.

Green ’10 Cast in Traveling “West Side Story” Troupe

Jarrad Green ’10 has been cast as Tony in Troika Entertainment’s traveling production of “West Side Story.” The show will run through summer 2014 making stops across the country, and in western Canada and Alaska.

Mr. Green was recently cast as Joe Hardy in TriArts Sharon Playhouse’s production of “Damn Yankees” and Dallas in “Sweet Smell of Success” at NYU’s Skirball Center.
