Joe’s Cafe: If you’re looking for a definitive “townie” establishment, you will do no better than Joe’s. After all, it’s been around for more than 70 years. But unlike some more parochial venues, Joe’s is about as welcoming a place as you’ll find. If you sit at the bar (which is often crowded even during week nights), be prepared to get involved in a conversation. The cast of characters that populate this pizza parlor is both colorful and gregarious. And the decor alone is worth a visit.
