Athletes of the Week

Tom Lawry ’19 – Boys Varsity Water Polo

Tom led the young water polo team in an opening season double header. He showed great heart and determination, playing the majority of both games, leading the team in scoring with 3 goals, and serving as a positive role model for the new players. His sustained effort while in the pool, and “never quit” attitude against strong opposition were great examples of what Williston water polo exemplifies.

Caroline DiFiore ‘19– Girls Varsity Soccer

Caroline has been a force for the Wildcats early this season. She played very tough defense in the Wildcats first 2 contests this season, including shutting down some top players for Miss Porter’s.  She did this with great tenacity and hustle, which was contagious for the rest of the squad. Caroline leads by example and is a very strong addition to the defensive unit of the Wildcats.

DJ Poulin ‘19- Boys Varsity Cross Country

DJ ran an exceptional race on Saturday in the Wildcats first home meet against Kent.  He encouraged his teammate, Caleb Stern, as they moved up in the second half of the race to pass Kent’s 3rd and 4th runners.  Both DJ and Caleb finished in Willston’s top five for the race.  DJ is a quiet force on the team, always giving it his best, and his hard work throughout the summer clearly provided dividends for the Wildcats.

Annika von Schoeler-Ames ’22 – Girls Varsity Cross Country

Annika had a great start for the Wildcats on Saturday. She placed second for Williston competing against a strong Kent squad, and 4th overall, earning valuable points for her team. She made a decisive and dramatic pass of Kent’s #3 runner in the last mile, beating her by 15 seconds and securing a one point victory for Williston.
