On Saturday at the NEPSTA Cross Country All-Star Meet both Williston runners had outstanding races. In the girls race Devon Greenwood ’13 finished 10th of 51 runners with a time of 19:54 on the 5K course. On the boys side Andy Pierce ’13 ran a time of 17:18, which placed him 12th in the field of 42 runners.
Field hockey scored a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over visiting Miss Porter’s School. Porters took a 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game and held Williston scoreless until the Wildcats broke through with 17 minutes remaining on a goal by senior Jill Dahrooge (assist to Bridget Instrum ’12). Williston had a host of chances late in regulation but could not beat Christen Safko, the Porter’s keeper. Just two minutes into overtime, Bridget Instrum scored the game winner on a hard shot from the left side of the goal. Williston will play 2nd seeded Middlesex, who beat BB&N 4-1. The game will be played at Phillips Andover at 2:00pm on Saturday.
