Welcome back!10:00 a.m. November 2 Update:
Good news! Power to campus has now been fully restored. Classes will resume on Friday and boarding students can begin retruning to campus beginning at noon tomorrow. When boarders return, they will need to check in at the Schoolhouse. Varsity teams only will practice at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon. Our phones are now working, too, so you can contact the school through the main number, (413) 529-3000, or through any direct extensions. You can also check Facebook for updates.
Thanks to everyone for all of your help and patience.
6:45 p.m. November 1 Update:
The majority of campus still does not have power as of 6:45 this evening. In addition, our phones, email, and computer networks are not functional. Based on the situation as it currently stands, we have made the decision to cancel classes on Thursday. We are keeping a close eye on the situation so that we can give timely notice for students to return to campus and resume regular school schedules. We are grateful for everyone’s patience and especially appreciate the efforts of those parents who are hosting one, two, or more students.
We will have another update tomorrow.
1:45 p.m. November 1 Update
The unusual winter storm over the weekend has left the campus without power and no firm idea of when power will be restored. Head of School Robert Hill has announced that classes and all school-related activities have been canceled through Wednesday.
All Williston students have been sent home or to another secure location. Once it is clear when power and services will be restored, the school will send out further updates. In the meantime, the school has set up a hotline that will be staffed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
