In March, we told you about planned updates for the school’s online presence.
Since then, we’ve been work behind the scenes: adjusting navigation, updating pages, and adding content.
The first of these changes appeared in the form of new blogs. Along with beautiful headers by Eric Poggenpohl, the WordPress blogs have a cleaner, redesigned look.
Don’t worry. All of the news and events you’re used to will still appear at www.willistonblogs.com.
In the last few weeks, we’ve added to our blog roll with From the Archives, Beyond the Binder, In Their Own Words, The Willistonian, Athletics News, and Alumni Connections.
On Tuesday, May 15, we’re excited to also unveil the new look of the Williston Northampton website.
So, what’s changed?
The layout. News and events are featured prominently on the homepage, along with profiles of our students, quick links, and beautiful shots of campus.
It’s easier than ever to learn more about Williston, plan a visit, or find the schedule you need. Two main sections were also added to the top menu: Middle School and Support Williston.
Current students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff—they’re all important to us. That’s why we’ve given each group a new link at the top of the page, along with a “log in” for WillyNet.
Those padlock icons? Those are new too, and will let you know when there is content available that you’ll have to sign into WillyNet to see.
We’ve been working hard on these changes and we hope you like them.
But we’re not done yet.
Visit the website in the days and weeks to come and you’ll see updated content, better menus, more photography and—perhaps the most exciting—films from two top student videographers.
Remember: We love comments. And we want to continue to hear yours as we strive to make the school (and its website) the best it can be.
The changes sound very exciting, and the blogs are a terrific source of williston news.
I like the layout of the new website, but what happened to “On the Quad” and the photo show when you logged into Willynet?
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your feedback. A couple of the things you’re used to were rearranged and others disappeared temporarily while they were being set up. We’re still working on the site, including WillyNet and On the Quad, so check back in a week or so and we should have new designs in place.
Cheers,
Rachael Hanley
