Bina Sweet ’17 – Varsity Wrestling

Bina has had an exemplary start to the season for the boys varsity wrestling team.  On Saturday, he managed a come from behind pin over a very talented Loomis opponent to ensure a Williston team victory.  It was the final match of the day, and it was by far the day’s most exciting match. As a team captain, Bina is a role model of discipline and hard work and provides a positive example for everyone on the team on how to be a great teammate.

Julia MacLean ’18 – Girls Varsity Hockey

Julia led the Wildcats on Saturday in the team’s 8-2 victory with her first Williston goal and 2 assists during the game.  Her play was exceptional as she won her battles, moved the puck up the ice well and contributed to the offense. Julia’s efforts were notable in all three zones and she will be counted on for continued strong play this season. Her hard work on and off the ice leads a positive example for the younger kids on the team.

Nithish Raja ’18 – Boys Varsity Squash

Nithish had a great first week for the boys varsity squash team. As a newcomer to the varsity ladder Nithish assisted the squad to victory on Saturday, after going down 2-0 in games, he faced a match point in game three before going into tie breaks in games four and five, and in the process, defending 3 more match points by his opponent.  He prevailed in the fifth game 15-13! Nithish’s hard work and “can do” attitude gave the team what it needed to earn its second victory of the season.

Olivia Bonavita ’17 – Girls Varsity Basketball

Olivia has had a strong start to the season for the girls varsity basketball team. On Saturday, she had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists in a hard fought game against Kingswood Oxford. Olivia maintained solid energy and composure throughout the whole game. She chipped in 6 points late in the second half to help close the margin to 35-30. Olivia leads by example through her work ethic and is a role model athlete for her teammates.

Spencer Danforth ‘17 – Boys Varsity Basketball

Spencer played a terrific two-way game in varsity boys basketball’s season opening win over Berkshire on Saturday.   Offensively, he found numerous ways to score leading the team with 20 points.  Defensively, he was also a catalyst for the team with his ball hawking play.   Spencer leads by example each time he steps on the court by playing the game with passion and grit.
