AP US History Entry Test Reminder

REMINDER:  All students interested in taking AP United States History next year must take the entry test this Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:05 pm in the Reed Center, Room 204. The test will end by 3:05 pm. Please bring at least two pens or pencils to the test.

All current AP European History students who are signed up for AP US History are exempt from having to take the entry test if the average of their Trimester 1 & 2 grades was 90 percent or above.

Film Festival 5 Winners

Students from the region participated in the All-New England Film Festival for High School Students at Williston May 11, 2012. The following were the winners:

Best Film:  Breezeless, Charles Frank, WNS

Most Creative: Elise’s Dream Nicholas Motyka West Springfield HS

Best Documentary: The Harry Potter Phenomenon, Eva Araya, Hotchkiss School

Best Editing: Dreamer, Daisuke Hosokawa,  Governors Academy

Best Screenplay:  A Zombie Romance, Brian Ryu, Hotchkiss School

Best Special Effects: The Movie, Cade Zawacki, WNS

Best Cinematography: Mark Spaulding, Alex Kozikowski, WNS

Among the judges were alumni Steve Porter ’97 of Porterhouse Media, Loren Feinstein ’01, co-producer with his brother Matt ’99 of the award-winning documentary Ciclovida: Lifecycle, and Patrick Burns ’89, creator of commercial, documentary, corporate image, advertising and PR work using film, video and photography.
