Class Add Deadline: Today

Today is the deadline for adding new classes for the trimester. The only exception to this policy is a move in levels (i.e., Algebra II Honors to Algebra II Standard). Level changes will be permitted for another two weeks, with agreement from the student, teacher, advisor, and parents. The deadline for dropping classes is October 18, which corresponds with deadline for interim Trimester 1 comments.

Flu Vaccines

Winter is on the horizon (hard to believe when the weather is this beautiful!), and the school has received a limited number of flu vaccine doses. These will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, although priority will be given to students who meet certain risk criteria (asthma, diabetes, etc.). Boarding families who are interested in having their child vaccinated should contact Laurie Nicol in Health Services as soon as possible. Please note that priority is also given to boarding students, as day students have access to the vaccine through local health care providers.

Parents: Volunteer!

Parents: Volunteer to be a Team Parent or a Game Day Snack Sponsor. Team Parents are responsible for coordinating snacks for athletes on game days, and Game Day Snack Sponsors provide snacks and drinks for one game each season. We also need Team Parents for the Williston Theater and Dance Programs. If you’re interested in being a Team Parent, please contact Cheri Pyser, Team Parent Coordinator, by email or at (413) 527-3876.

Arete Appointments

Areté, the school’s student tutoring organization, is now ready to make appointments. Areté tutors are seniors who were in the top 10 percent of the class in their junior year. Students in need of help will be matched with a tutor, based on the subject and free periods. Areté is a terrific resource for students in need of extra help, along with Williston’s Writing Center and Math Resource Center. Contact Areté via email.

Game Time Changes

Dear Williston Community,

As Mr. Hill announced in assembly this morning, for the foreseeable future, we are moving all organized school events scheduled to be outside in the evening.  Unfortunately this includes our scheduled night games under the lights.  Here is this week’s change:

Varsity Girls Soccer vs Worcester Academy has been moved from 7:00 to 1:30.  The game will still be played at Berube Stadium on Sawyer Field.

If you are available, please come out and support our girls in this tough opening game match-up against the defending Class A champion Hilltoppers!

Two other HOME contests:
Varsity Boys Soccer vs Canterbury at 4:00 at Galbraith turf.
Varsity Boys Water Polo vs Brunswick, Choate at 1:00

Go Wildcats!!!
