Emergency Test Message

This morning at 9:00 a.m. Williston sent the test from RAVE, our new emergency alert system, to parents and guardians. If you are a parent or guardian, I hope you received the following email, phone call, and text message from the school.

“This is a TEST of the Williston Northampton School Emergency Alert System.  This is only a TEST.”

If you did not receive the emergency test, you will need to update your emergency contact information as soon as possible. You can do so by visiting the Williston website, clicking login at the top right of the page to access WillyNet, and then by clicking on My Information. Please click on My Family on the top of the page, and chose My Personal Contact Information. If any information needs to be updated, please make those changes there. If you need help making those changes, please contact the Technology Office at (413) 529-3338 or email support@williston.com.

Faculty and students will also receive a test message on Wednesday, December 10.

Thank you for helping us keep our emergency contact information up to date and for your cooperation this morning. We’re grateful for your part in keeping our community safe.

Sincerely,

Anne O’Connor
Director of Security

Yearbook Photo Contest

Once again this year, the Log is having a contest for to find *the campus scenery pic* for the opening page of the 2015 yearbook.
All faculty, staff and students are eligible and encouraged to enter this contest.  The winning photographer will receive a $50 gift card to Tandem!
Please submit high resolution photos only (the photo will be printed near full-page sized), to smichalski@williston.com by December 13, 2014, using “LOG PHOTO CONTEST” in the subject line.

Please note that in the case of otherwise equal quality photos, preference will be given to the photo which somehow embodies this year’s yearbook theme, “A Parting Shot”. The yearbook will be printed in full color, so only color pics for the contest.

Also only a few days left to pre-order your copy of the yearbook in the student store!

Thank you, and happy photographing!

Mrs. Michalski
Faculty Advisor to The Log

Here’s a link that will tell you everything you need to know about test day, including what to bring and what not to bring, and a link for the calculator policy.

Illusionist David Garrity on Nov. 15

Saturday night in the Williston Theatre at 9 p.m.  illusionist David Garrity presents “Magic & Beyond.” This performance is a one-man illusion show that features unique, theatrical, and visual magic, audience participation, comedy, and a custom-edited musical soundtrack.

Mr. Garrity’s “Magic & Beyond” show has recently been seen at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ; Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, NY; and on an international tour of exclusive, all-inclusive resorts along the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Highlights from the “Magic & Beyond” performance may include a flashy opening called “Shades of Magic” in which the unique magic revolves around a set of sunglasses that have appeared in a flash of fire, an incredible illusion where a table mysteriously floats around the stage and into the audience, a beautiful and artistic illusion involving ordinary Hula Hoops that perform extraordinary magic, and a Houdini-style “Escape Challenge”

Mr.  Garrity uses visual magic and illusions with music, pantomime, situation comedy, and audience participation to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
