Ninth Grade Program Orientation Trip on Sept. 5

The Ninth Graders should pack light and smart for the trip to Camp Bonnie Brae tomorrow. They should come with a backpack or small duffel, a pair of shorts and pants, one long-sleeve and two short-sleeve shirts, a bathing suit, towel, underwear, socks and sneakers, a rain jacket, a sweatshirt, pajamas, and toiletries (including bug spray, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a flashlight).  In addition, they should have a pillow and sleeping bag (or sheets and a blanket, if that’s easier). Boarding students should make certain to pack these items separately in their cars/luggage for ease of departure on Friday; day students should make certain to bring these items to Welcome Days on Friday morning. Ninth grade families should look for an email this evening with details.

After Friday I will not be able to sell anything for the remainder of the fiscal year due to system updating and archiving.
Please let me know immediately if you have any Campus Store business to attend to.

The Campus Store will reopen on Monday 7/14.

Thanks and happy summer!

2015 Senior Portrait Info for the Log

We at the Log staff are excited about this year’s yearbook, and are already well at work for the Class of 2015. If you are a senior, or the parent or guardian of a senior, here is some information you will need for the senior portrait section of the 2015 yearbook.

Option I: Be photographed on-campus.

April of April Eve photography (www.aprileve.com) will be on campus in the fall to take senior photos for a nominal $35 sitting fee. While photos will be available for purchase, there is no obligation to do so. Via April’s website, students can select the photo they want to be included in the yearbook, and that photo will be provided directly to the yearbook staff.  Seniors can sign up for a photo sitting online with April Eve in September once they return to campus.

Option 2: Use an off-campus photographer

If you choose to use an outside, off-campus photographer, please be sure to adhere to the following guidelines:

-standard professional quality yearbook head shot (no do-it-yourself, passport photos, etc.)
-solid background
-black and white OR color
-no “blurred” lens
-no props or accessories in the photo (soccer balls, trees, etc.)
– no profile shots
-no hands/arms (head propped on folded hands etc.)
-2.5 x 3.5 inch (wallet-size) senior portrait
-300 dpi or larger (we can easily work with files that are larger, but we cannot print files of lesser quality)
-Vertical orientation
-JPEG files only, please

Please submit your off-campus photo to Editor in Chief Hannah Lee by October 15, 2014. Questions? Email Susan Michalski, faculty advisor to the Log, at smichalski@williston.com.
