Dear Williston Community,

As Mr. Hill announced in assembly this morning, for the foreseeable future, we are moving all organized school events scheduled to be outside in the evening.  Unfortunately this includes our scheduled night games under the lights.  Here is this week’s change:

Varsity Girls Soccer vs Worcester Academy has been moved from 7:00 to 1:30.  The game will still be played at Berube Stadium on Sawyer Field.

If you are available, please come out and support our girls in this tough opening game match-up against the defending Class A champion Hilltoppers!

Students who are U.S. citizens and will be 18 years-old on or before November 6 will be eligible to vote in national and local elections this fall. In order to vote, students must register. The deadlines for voter registration vary from state to state, and students are encouraged to register in their hometowns before arriving on campus. Boarding students will be able to vote by absentee ballot. Rick Teller ’70 in the school library is happy to assist with registration, absentee ballots, and answer any questions you might have. Auditions for the fall play, Neil Simon’s Rumors: A Farce, will be held Tuesday, September 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Students do not need to prepare anything in advance but should come prepared to read from the play. For more information, including a summary of the play, rehearsal schedules, and performance dates, please contact Emily Ditkovski, director of the Williston Theatre.

The Athletic Trainers will be conducting individualized ImPACTconcussion baseline testing for all students during the opening days of school, as they have done for the past few years.

On Thursday August 30, 2012, there will be a mandatory all employee meeting in the theater from 1 PM to 3:15 PM. On the agenda for this meeting: Bullying, Harassment, and Hazing Prevention. We will also have a representative from ING to give us an update about the upcoming changes to our retirement plan. We will also review Emergency Response Preparedness. All employees are required to attend.
