Blood Drive Volunteers

We’re having a blood drive at Williston THIS SATURDAY! We already have 125 members of our community signed up to donate which is great! We’re still looking for more people to donate, but even if you can’t donate…

WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! Especially for those of you who are not able to donate yourself, volunteering is a great way to get involved!

The blood drive starts at 9 am and goes until 3 pm. You can sign up to volunteer at lunch tomorrow, or just drop in at any time to help out!

***We’re also selling Zuzzy’s cookie dough to benefit Relay for Life! $6 for 1 pint!

Art Work

If you have been in any painting courses or design courses in the last four years and want your work, next week is the time to come get it. I will have tables set up outside the studios and inside the studios of past work that I have found. Some work might be on the walls in the studio or in the hallways. If you do not claim it by next Friday then it will either be put it the dorms next year and/or in the trash!!

Thank you- Marcia Reed

(This excludes current art people in my classes as we will be using your work for assessment time)

The Archives Wants Your Work

That’s right.  That fantastic term paper . . . groundbreaking lab report . . . blindingly brilliant photo project . . . senior English portfolio . . . Middle School science project . . .

OK, we don’t always produce blinding brilliance.  Believe me, I know.  But I hope that all of you have, at some point this year, produced something you’re proud of.  Perhaps many things!

So why do I want them?

Because the Archives’ mission is to actively collect and preserve the primary sources of The Williston Northampton School’s history.  The key word in there is “school.”  It’s easy to document history through our publications, theater photographs, box scores, etc.  But we need to document our academic program as well, and that’s harder to do — even though it is the most important reason we’re here.  (Consider this: all those publications, photographs, scores, etc., wouldn’t exist if we didn’t hold classes.)

I’m looking for representative examples of good student work in every subject and every grade level.  I urge you to send me something . . . or a lot of things.  Email attachments and paper are equally welcome, with or without teacher comments.  And they’ll become part of the body of documents that define our history.  Meaning yours.

Thanks,

Mr. Teller
