Couchon’s Croutons: Something new and totally awesome!

Greetings and Salutations everyone!

I hope you all got a chance to get outside and enjoy the absolutely beautiful day today.  I just wanted to take a second to let you all know about something new that I think is really exciting and I hope you will too.

We have changed the milk that you are all drinking in the dining room. Well, most of it. They are working on the skim milk right now, but moving forward, all of our chocolate and 2% milk from the dispensers in the dining hall are now directly from McCrays Farm in South Hadley. That means that your milk is now from a farm about 20 minutes away, that also does a pretty awesome Haunted Hay Ride every Friday and Saturday in October.

So I hope you are all excited about this as I am. I know it’s a hard thing to grasp sometimes, but keeping things local, especially with what we eat and drink is an amazing thing across the board.

This is something I wanted to share with you. I hope you all have a great night. And I will see you in the morning!

PEACE OUT!

Arts Classes to Visit Chuck Close Exhibit

Two arts classes will be heading to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for a exhibit of work by Chuck Close on Thursday, October 8 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Chuck Close Photographs” is a comprehensive survey of significant scope, exploring how the artist has stretched the boundaries of photographic means, methods, and approaches throughout his career.  It includes 129 photographs spanning from 1968 to the present, ranging from black and white portraits to monumentally scaled composite Polaroids, to intimately scaled daguerreotypes. For the first time in his extensive exhibition history, this project delves deeply into the full range of his photographic works. The event is required for all students enrolled in Advanced Practices in Studio Art or Alt. Photographic Processes. Those with questions or concerns should contact faculty members Ed Hing, Natania Hume, or Daniel Roe.
