4/24 Update: The project in front of the campus center is almost complete and sod is being rolled out today. Please stay off the new grass in the area for the time being. Physical Plant staff have staked and roped off the area as a gentle reminder.
You may have noticed that the grass area in front of the Reed Center has been fenced off. Over the next couple of weeks, a new drainage system will be put in so that when the tent for graduation is installed, in the event of rain, the water coming off the tent will flow into these new additional drains. The work should be done quickly and grass will be replanted in plenty of time before graduation and Alumni Weekend.
Good morning, there will be a staff meeting on Thursday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in the Cox room. We will be discussing some upcoming changes to health insurance for next year. Attendance is strongly encouraged.

Williston is participating in the day of silence on Friday, April 11. Students can be actively silent by wearing a sticker and can support the effort, but still be vocal, by wearing a bracelet or a button or both.

Thirteen students from Outdoor Ecology class will be heading to Mt. Tom on Thursday evening to visit some local vernal pools and witness the mating activities of amphibians. The class will leave from the parking lot by Scott Hall at 8:00 p.m. and return around 10:30 p.m. or so. Teachers Paul Luikart and Liz Kay are supervising the trip.
Family Weekend is next week…make sure you can tell your visitors that you have been using the Writing Center!

Hi everyone,
Besides all that is happening in Venezuela; there is something else happening in my country, Ecuador. In a small part of Ecuador there is Yasuni National Park which is arguably the most biologically diverse spot on Earth. The problem is that the government wants to destroy it forever, to make room for oil drilling. One way to stop it is signing an international petition online, however the petition is in Spanish so it would be easier if you just respond to this email giving me your consent to use your email and your name to sign the petition. (I just need your email and first name)
I’m also taking a picture with a sign saying “We support Yasuni”, so if you want to be in the picture go to Reed (in front of the Stu Bop) on Tuesday after class.
