For Juniors: SAT Info for This Saturday

If you are a junior taking the SAT this Saturday, please read carefully. For those taking the SAT reasoning test, please be down at the Athletic Center by 7:45 a.m. For those taking SAT subject tests, please report to the college counseling building (Plimpton) at 7:45 a.m. For those not sure what test they are taking or not sure if they are even registered, you can check at the front desk in the schoolhouse starting this afternoon to find out. Please also let you teachers know that you will not be in class on Saturday and know that you are responsible for the material covered in that class. Remember to bring two number 2 pencils, and your admission ticket and your Williston ID with you. Below are some helpful reminders. Good luck!

InfraRed Tickets Now On Sale

The Williston Northampton Dance Ensemble presents InfraRed, the spring dance concert, on May 17th and 18th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Williston Theatre.

The concert will feature 12 new dances with choreography by Williston dance program director Laurel Raffetto; guest artists Yoshio T. Chandler and Ranjanaa Devi; and student choreography by Mika Chmielewski ’13, Keely Quirk ’13, Victoria Durocher ’13, Henry “HyLo” Lombino ’14, and Gabrielle Record ’17.

There will also be a special performance by the CONNetic Dance Company; a special student performance by Pankti Dalal ’13; and senior project presentation by Victoria Durocher ’13.

We the People Update

Editor’s note: AP US History classes participated in the We the People program from April 26-30 at George Mason University in Washington, D.C. The following is an update from history teacher and trip leader Peter Gunn.

What a great start!  Despite some travel and other sequester-related challenges on Friday, we did tour the Supreme Court and the King, FDR, and Jefferson Memorials – many inspiring moments.  For me, the highlight was viewing the actual letter between Clarence Earl Gideon and the Clerk of the Supreme Court.  While many believe that “due process” is the bedrock of civil liberty, Mr. Gideon’s struggle shows me that a deep and persistent belief in your own rights is the vital element in civil society.

French toast, sausage, yogurt bar, make-your-own waffle, rice, assorted eggs at the grill
Cream of broccoli and French onion soup,  open face grinder with grilled eggplant, tomato, red pepper pesto and provolone cheese, open face grinder with  turkey, bacon, sautéed onions, ranch dressing and provolone cheese, Portobello mushrooms with spinach and vegetables, scandanavian blend vegetable

Pasta bar: cheese stuffed rigatoni, marinara sauce, garlic sauce and  steamed broccoli

Dinner
BBQ pulled pork, southern style tilapia fillet, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, baked sweet potato, sautéed mixed greens, hush puppies

Special Hours for Sunday, April 28th
Brunch 11:00 – 12:30

Dinner will be a special event hosted by Mr. Spearing and the Activities Department at 6:30 p.m. in the Reed Campus Center. The dining hall will be closed for dinner this evening.

Pancakes, warm apple crisp, home fries, ham,  vegetable and cheese frittata, make your own waffles-toppings, assorted omelets and eggs at grill, blueberry muffins, coffee cake
