The Food Drive will be finishing this Thursday, December 17th!  Between now and then, how many more items can we raise?

Best of luck to your team and thank you so much for participating in the Food Drive!

Home Hockey Game Tonight – Fundraiser for Millbrook!

Hello Williston Community,

We hope you are well and that you will all be coming down to the hockey game tonight at 7 p.m. as the boys varsity hockey teams hosts Academie St. Louis from Quebec. You may have heard or seen on social media that there was a tragic death in the prep school community when Millbrook AD and girls hockey coach, Ed Allen, was in a fatal car crash last Saturday morning. We intend on having a moment of silence at the game on Friday night, but are also going to take a collection between periods with all the proceeds going to a fund that has been set up for his surviving wife and family. I write in advance so that if you will be attending the game we hope that you could spare a few dollars for the collection. Thanks and we hope to see a packed house in the rink tonight!

Sincerely,
Coach Cunha and the Boys Varsity Hockey  Team

Field Trip to see Gad Elmaleh at the Iron Horse

The 14 students in Honors French V or AP French will be attending this event at the Iron Horse on Thursday, December 10, 6:15 – 8:30 p.m.  If you have questions or concerns please contact Adeleen Brown or Sue Michalski.

Food Drive Collection Results

Hi Williston!

Yesterday the Community Service Club went on an adventure to empty the Food Drive collection boxes from the first round of donations.  That means that today the first round of results are in!

Drum roll please….

Leading the way is the Middle School with a total of 47 donations!

Second is the Junior Class with 19 donations!

Following close behind is the Senior Class with 10 donations!

And right behind them is the Faculty/Staff team with eight donations!

The Sophomore Class is holding a steady fifth with two donations!

And the Freshman Class, with no donations, fills the final slot!

Now as a community that gives us 86 donations which is still a ways off from our goal of 500.

Our next checkpoint collection is on Friday, how much further can we get?

The challenge is on Williston, which team will win the dress down day, and more importantly, how much of an impact can our community make with this food drive?

The answers are up to you!

Best of luck and have a great week!

10th Grade Pajama-Movie Night on December 11

Dear Class of 2018 and Families,

On Friday, December 11, we will be hosting our second class social of the year by having a 10th Grade Pajama-Movie Night at 9:00 p.m. The boys varsity hockey team has a game at our rink at 7:00 p.m. After the game, there will be a student-selected movie showing in the Dodge Room of the Reed Campus Center at 9:00 p.m. We will provide fun snacks and warm drinks during the evening. Day students are welcome to stay overnight in the dorm room of a sophomore of the same sex, but students and families need to make these arrangements in advance.

For those day students electing to sleep over, boys will sleep in boys’ dorms and girls will sleep in girls’ dorms. There is no cost to stay over for this special night. Students will need to bring a pillow and a sleeping bag or blanket. We will provide a mattress. Students are expected to plan ahead and fulfill their Saturday commitments as necessary. For planning purposes, please have the overnight permission form that you received in by the end of the school day on Tuesday, December 8.

If day students want to enjoy the fun of the evening but not sleep over, no permission form is required. They can be picked up by 10:55 p.m. on Friday at the Reed Campus Center. Thanks to the Class of 2018 Student Council for leading the way in organizing this event.

Feel free to email me with any questions you have. We are looking forward to another great night!

Sincerely,

Matt Spearing
