Second Annual December Food Drive

That’s right Williston, you heard it here first!

This year the Community Service Club and Student Council have teamed up to challenge YOU in our second annual December Food Drive!

Our goal: for the Community as a whole to raise 500 items to donate to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts (hey if everyone on campus were to donate only one item, we would already be past that goal!)

The Challenge: This year we have decided to provide a little extra initiative to donate to the Food Drive by breaking the community up into teams. Each grade will have its own team and there will be a faculty/staff team as well! The grade that raises the most items for the food drive will win….drum roll please…a DRESS DOWN DAY! (Yes you just read that correctly). If the faculty/staff team wins, they will receive a special prize that has yet to be determined!

When: The food drive will be taking place in the weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter break, so bring items back with you from break! There will be donation boxes organized by team in the Schoolhouse, as well as boxes for the 7th and 8th grade teams in the Middle School.

Are you wondering what you should donate? Well we have a list of ideas for you courtesy of Molly Sauvain from the Food Bank.

Some food items that you could bring:
-Peanut butter
-Jam/Jelly
-Low-sugar cereals
-Pasta
-Tomato sauce
-Canned or dry beans
-Canned soups and stews
-Canned veggies and fruits
-Canned tuna and chicken
-Dried fruit
-Whole packaged nuts
-Baby food and Baby formula

Or, if you are not feeling in the mood to donate food, you could donate a non-food item such as:
-Toothpaste and toothbrushes
-Shampoo and conditioner
-Toilet paper
-Soap
-Diapers
-Lotion
-Diaper cream

Talk about it with your friends, make a game plan, and come back from break ready to donate!

If we work together as a community, we really can make an impact in the lives of local families who are struggling to provide for their family this holiday season.

So Williston, the bar has been set at 500, can we reach it?

Good luck on your assessments!

Many Thanks
-The Community Service Club and Student Council

Willistonian Takeover Tuesdays

Hey Williston,

I just wanted to reach out to everybody to ask who would be interested in participating in a Wilistonian #TakeoverTuesday. I’m sure you all know what it is (since you all follow us on Instagram and Twitter) but just to recap what it is, essentially you get to post on our Instagram account for a Tuesday. If you are interested in doing this please email me, or let me know in some other way.

Thanks,
JJ Celentano

Staff vs. Students Soccer Results

Thanks to everyone who came out to support and play today!

The game was tied at half-time 1-1. Though the students put up a valiant effort in the second half, with stingy team defense, quality goalie skills from Mr. Shelton, and a steady dose of shots on net, the staff were victorious 5-3. Come out for the next staff vs. student competition in December. Go Wildcats!
