Wondrous Tales of Old Japan on Feb. 18-23
Wondrous Tales of Old Japan, by David Furumoto, consists of four Japanese folktales told in the theatrically magical style of Kabuki! Gorgeous costumes and makeup combined with onstage practical effects bring these stories to life. See a boy born from a peach and grow to save his family from the ogres. Go with us as we take a journey under the sea with a fisherman and a turtle! Be amazed by the transformation of Yuki Onna, the snow woman and smile as you witness the blossoming of the cherry trees on stage! Our characters spring to life in front of your eyes and will be walking so close that you could reach out and touch them. Come spend an afternoon with with our actors as they show you The Wondrous Tales of Old Japan!
Performance dates:
February 18 – 23 @ 3:30pm
February 22 @ 7:30pm
Tickets: $7/students and seniors, $10 general public, free to Williston Northampton students, faculty, and staff. Reserve your tickets.

The Willistonian: Willy-Lympics Season Two

Red Cross Blood Drive Today
The Red Cross Blood Drive is under way in the Dodge Room and Dance Studio in Reed from 9am-3pm today. Stop by to say “hi”, and see who is helping to save a life by giving a piece of themselves. If there is a free slot, you may even be able to give blood if you have not signed up yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af0gk_kiGac 1 donation can save 3 lives. Be a hero, give blood.

Holiday Choral Festival Tonight
The Widdigers and Caterwaulers will perform at “A Holiday Choral Festival,” presented by the Northampton Community Music Center, tonight, Dec. 10 at 6 pm at Smith College’s Helen Hills Hills Chapel. Free admission.

Jingle Bell Jaunt on Dec. 15
Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Jingle Bell Jaunt on December 15th at 1:30 p.m at Sawyer Field. This event, sponsored by my lovely advisory, will be different this year as it will culminate at The Hills’ house for a visit with Santa!
The Event: Campus kids run (or walk, or skip, or are pushed in a stroller) one lap around Sawyer Field accompanied by the sweet sounds of little jingle bells tied to their little shoes. Very cute! (For evidence of cuteness, see the attached photo, where teeny-tiny Maggie Fay is accompanied in her “jaunt” by Isabelle Cheney…and the entire boys’ hockey team.)
New this year: Kids will continue their jaunt up the hill to The Hills’ for treats and a visit with the Jolly Old Elf himself. There will be a well-marked path for them to follow the whole way.
The Cost: $3/child or $5/family. ALL PROCEEDS go to Easthampton Adopt-a-Family so that a family in our community can have a better Christmas. We have raised over $500 for this cause over the years!
The Prize: Bragging rights for a whole year, sweet jingle bells to wear all season and a gingerbread cookie.
Hope to see you all there! Please let me know if you plan to come so that no one goes without a cookie.
Yours,
Sarah Sawyer, Adrienne Mantegna (and Mantegna’s Awesome Advisory)
