We are pleased to announce the opening of our first Boathouse online store. The online store is open now through September 17th. You can purchase merchandise directly from the store for a limited time. Any items you purchase will be shipped to you by October 8th. Please be advised that this is the only Boathouse merchandise that will be available for the fall season.
Students who are U.S. citizens and will be 18 years-old on or before November 6 will be eligible to vote in national and local elections this fall. In order to vote, students must register. The deadlines for voter registration vary from state to state, and students are encouraged to register in their hometowns before arriving on campus. Boarding students will be able to vote by absentee ballot. Rick Teller ’70 in the school library is happy to assist with registration, absentee ballots, and answer any questions you might have. He can be reached by email or phone, 413-529-3288.
Auditions for the fall play, Neil Simon’s Rumors: A Farce, will be held Tuesday, September 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Students do not need to prepare anything in advance but should come prepared to read from the play. For more information, including a summary of the play, rehearsal schedules, and performance dates, please contact Emily Ditkovski, director of the Williston Theatre.
Please check the school’s online vendor for two additions to the Ninth Grade English books requirements. The English Department apologizes for the change, but it was necessary for the year’s curriculum. The two new books are: The Odd Sea by Frederick Reiken (ISBN 978-803-853333-82) and Vocabulary from Latin and Greek Roots, Book IV (ISBN 978-1580-492065).
Parents of Freshmen: Just a reminder that you can find the letter from program directors Allison Marsland and Matt Sawyer online. The PDF includes a brief description of the Class of 2016’s orientation trip to Camp Bonnie Brae, along with a packing list for the two-night event. Students will register on Friday, September 7, and leave campus at 1:00 p.m. that day.
