PSAT for Sophomores and Juniors

Hello Juniors and Sophomores,

As you know, you will all be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Athletic Center. Because there have been some questions about this, I wanted to clarify that there is nothing you need to do ahead of time in the way of signing up or registering. We will have everything ready for you on that day.

If you would like to pick up the Official Student Guide to the PSAT, stop by Plimpton Hall (College Counseling) any time – they are right here on the counter for you. It gives you a little preview, some test-taking tips, and an official practice test if you’d like to check out a sample.

If you have any questions about this, just let me know, or feel free to stop by my office in Plimpton Hall any time!

Best,
Mrs. Ward

Hispanic Heritage Month

Hello Williston,

As we head into the middle of October, let’s recognize the end of Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15-October 15. Click here to watch a reading by the first Latino U.S. Poet Laureate, Juan Felipe Herrera, and click here to read more about him.

We will continue the celebration this Wednesday evening at dinner in the Birch Dining Commons with food, music, and dancing sponsored by our Multicultural Student Union. Don’t miss this opportunity to try something new and learn about our community’s Hispanic heritage. See you out there.

Sincerely,

Matt Spearing

Couchon’s Croutons: Something new and totally awesome!

Greetings and Salutations everyone!

I hope you all got a chance to get outside and enjoy the absolutely beautiful day today.  I just wanted to take a second to let you all know about something new that I think is really exciting and I hope you will too.

We have changed the milk that you are all drinking in the dining room. Well, most of it. They are working on the skim milk right now, but moving forward, all of our chocolate and 2% milk from the dispensers in the dining hall are now directly from McCrays Farm in South Hadley. That means that your milk is now from a farm about 20 minutes away, that also does a pretty awesome Haunted Hay Ride every Friday and Saturday in October.

So I hope you are all excited about this as I am. I know it’s a hard thing to grasp sometimes, but keeping things local, especially with what we eat and drink is an amazing thing across the board.

This is something I wanted to share with you. I hope you all have a great night. And I will see you in the morning!

PEACE OUT!
